Learn About Our Homebound Hounds Program

Our “Homebound Hounds,” program saves over 500 puppies from Southside Virginia each year while filling the demand for mixed-breed puppies in areas to the North.  Each month, we transport between 40 and 50 puppies to reputable partners in the North for adoption.

In partnership with several reputable agencies, we rescue puppies from Southside Virginia county animal pounds or that are surrendered or abandoned by their owners.  Since its inception, the Southside SPCA has rescued over 7,000 puppies (and the occasional kitten) through this program.  Our partners assist us with helping to find loving homes for these puppies.
