Lunenburg County’s Animal Control Officer, Ray Elliott, will once again be foregoing his Thanksgiving dinner to benefit the Spay/Neuter Program at the Southside SPCA. He will enter a dog run at the Lunenburg County Animal Control at 6:00pm, where he will sit on the hard concrete floor with only water to drink.

Ray will not be seated at the dinner table with his family on Thanksgiving night. Instead, he will continue his campaign to promote awareness of the pet over-population in Lunenburg county, and to raise much needed funds to assist residents in spaying and neutering their pets.

His goal is to raise $15,000 this year and he vows not to leave the kennel until 6:00am the next morning OR until he reaches his goal! Donations (payable to the Southside SPCA) can be made in person to Ray on Thanksgiving night or by clicking this link:  DONATE.  All donations made to Ray’s campaign will be deposited in a separate account dedicated to paying for spay/neuter services in Lunenburg County.

Anyone interested in supporting Ray’s efforts can contact him directly at 434-917-9065.
