We’re rescheduling our Fall Festival and Open House to Sunday November 3 due to the cold and rainy forecast for this Sunday.
We hope you will make plans to join us as we celebrate the beauty of fall on Sunday, November 3, from 12:00 to 4:00 PM at our shelter in Meherrin, 7352 Patrick Henry Highway (Route 360). Our annual open house is always a special time for visitors to tour our grounds and meet the dogs and cats. We welcome you to come explore our facilities, visit our residents, and relax and stay a while to enjoy our Fall Festival!
We’re planning for tons of fun with food vendors and craft vendors, Southside SPCA merchandise and prizes, as well as fun games. Of course, our fall event wouldn’t be complete without our famous raffle baskets! You can expect lots of great prizes for both pets and people! While waiting for the raffles you can grab a bite to eat from the BoJangles food truck, relax, and enjoy the live music provided by local musician, Joel Worford. And, be sure to bring the kids for plenty of fun and carnival games, popcorn, face-painting, and cool furry tattoos.
Plus, you can bring your leashed and well-behaved dog or cat and join our pet parade and costume contest! Our celebrity judges will award prizes for the best-dressed pets in a variety of fun categories!

12:00 to 4:00 – Bojangles Food truck, live music, shelter tours, arts and crafts vendors, carnival games, popcorn, face-painting and tattoos, door prizes!
1:00 – The biggest prize raffle drawing!! Purchase a ticket to win this first raffle which allows you to choose any of the over 60 raffle items!
