Join us for a VIP Meet and Greet with the star of “A Dog’s Way Home”

Meeting a Movie Star

The VIP Meet & Greet will take place on Sunday, February 24th, at 4:00 PM at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites of Farmville, where Shelby – a.k.a “Bella,” the leading, four-legged lady –  will be there with her human handler/mom, Debbie Pearl, to greet fans.  Also in attendance will be our special guest emcee from Richmond:  WTVR CBS 6’s very own Julie Bragg.  This unique event will only sell 50 tickets, and they are going fast!

Barking with Excitement

“The Dog’s Way Home” is Hollywood’s most recent, animal-centric movie that premiered in January in theaters nationwide.  “The human-like doggy hero at this family film’s core is easy to care about and root for.” says Bob Hoose of Plugged In*.  A simple Google search will immediately result in a lineup of positive reviews from movie-goers relating how “heart-warming” and “beautiful” it is, and how it should rank “10 out of 10,” for its great story-line, acting, and the main pup being such a lovable character from start to end.

Making a “Paws”itive Impact

For over 7 years now, The Southside SPCA’s COOLE group (committee on outreach and local events) has been essential in supporting the shelter’s 40+ years of serving as a resource and, often, second- or third- chance to pets who have almost lost hope.  As a 501c-3 non-profit that is entirely donor-run, literally every penny donated to The Southside SPCA counts.  The COOLE group is always thinking of new and fun ways to involve the community and provide events that give them the chance to get out and experience new things, all while raising awareness and monies to help even more animals.
“It was a bit of a stab in the dark,” said Steve Smelcer, Event Coordinator, The Southside SPCA, “but having Hollywood come to Farmville is a chance of a lifetime that other animal shelters might only dream of having come true.  This will be huge.”

Bring the Whole Pack, too!

The VIP Meet and Greet is definitely a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to help the homeless animals in Southside Virginia have a better shot at finding a safe, healthy, and happy life as pets.   Tickets are $50 each, OR, if you have children under 13 years old, you can purchase a Family Pack for $100 which includes up to 4 tickets as long as one child (13 or under) is a part of the Pack.
Each attendee will receive:  a catered meal by The Fishin’ Pig, autographed and “paw”tographed special edition merchandise, a copy of the book “A Dog’s Way Home”, question and answer session with the movie star herself, — and more!

No other pets, please, for the safety of our star.  To be a part of the VIP event, snag your ticket here: http://sspcavip.eventbrite.com
